Project description
Powering EU–Africa partnerships with sustainable energy
Energy is key to development in Africa, and supporting its energy access is a shared priority for Africa and Europe. In this context, the EU-funded ENERGICA project will bring together 11 Africa-based and 17 European partners to foster the collaboration between the two continents on energy access and sustainable energy development. Specifically, the project will develop innovative nanogrids in rural Madagascar; low-tech efficient biogas systems in peri-urban Sierra Leone; and solar-powered e-mobility solutions in urban Kenya. Ultimately, more than 1 500 local stakeholders across Africa are expected to benefit directly from this initiative.
