Periodic Reporting for period 1 - EIS (Exploration Information System)
Période du rapport: 2022-05-01 au 2023-10-31
The main achievements of WP2 (Mineral systems and geology for CRM deposits) are development of a mineral systems model for cobalt bearing VMS system is progressing well. The report for list of preliminary regional and local vectors for mineral systems has been developed and accepted by MC and AB members. All WP2 tasks are on track and there are no major deviations from the work plan.

All WP2 tasks are on track and there are no major deviations from the work plan.
The first main achievement of WP3 (Innovative digital exploration toolbox) are the successful design of the EIS Toolkit and the EIS QGIS Plugin after 12 months. Based on it, the initial tools for the EIS Toolkit have been developed by the involved partners from the wish list and implemented in a public software repository on EIS: This was concluded with the beta release of the EIS Toolkit after 18 months. This now allows researchers from within the consortium but also stakeholders from outside the consortium to install and test the EIS Toolkit.
The main objective of WP4 (Test case studies and CRM potential in Europe) is to produce mineral prospectivity maps with the EIS tools for the test sites that represent mineral systems investigated in WP2.Compilation of datasets for test sites are in progress for the three mineral systems and in collaboration with several partners. A metadata template file has been created based on the standard Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI) to simplify the process of establishing working lists with the management committee. Partners are encouraged to fill out these templates in the coming weeks for all the data that will be used in WP4 in the months to come.
The main aim effort of the WP5 (Engaging with stakeholders) concentrated on the organization of the EU SuperCluster Lapland Geoconference 30-31 October 2023 in Rovaniemi, Finland. Twenty-three EU-funded projects focused on raw materials in collaboration with the University of Queensland (Australia), joined forces to organise this 1.5-day clustering event. It can be stated that the SuperCluster event was by far the biggest clustering event ever organised by the mineral raw materials related projects.
The main objectives of the WP6 (Dissemination, exploitation, communication and improving the awareness of the general public) are the development of the communication and dissemination strategy, the logo and brand identity design, the website development, the social media content creation and management, the dissemination of the events and activities, the first newsletter, and launching 3 awareness campaigns. On the exploitation side. A successful BEYOND EIS workshop was conducted during the second progress meeting. 12 bilateral BEYOND EIS discussions contributed to deepen the workshop with each partner, in order to understand better long-term objectives for each organisation and define more clearly the Key Exploitable Results and the long-term strategies converging and on which the task will be focused for the rest of the project.
Results have been communicated through the following deliverables in the system:
1. Preliminary list of pathfinders and vectors for mineral systems
2.Geological background information
3.First report on the EIS clustering events
4.Final Version of Additional Algorithms, including Documentation
5.EIS Toolkit, Additional Algorithm & QGIS EIS Wizard Design Report
6.EIS Toolkit Beta Version, including User Manual and Technical Specification
7.Beta Version of Additional Algorithms, including Documentation
First release of EIS toolkit has been done.
