Deliverables
Delphy interviews will be carried out with about 25 European experts from the focus countries to get insight in the value chain actors in reaction to the identified scenarios, the expectations in demand and market trends, supply chain structure, and value chain development.
Modelling results of socio-economic impacts in the organic value chains (opens in new window)Using insight from the CAPRI model (WP3), this will be used to identify changes in product flows in the value chain at processing level and propose the changes that are needed to reach the organic targets in 3 case studies.
Second batch of 10 Practice abstracts (opens in new window)Will include further practical recommendations as outcomes of the work carried out in WP2 and WP5.
Prioritised R&I topics for transnational funding by CORE Organic Pleiades (opens in new window)List of prioritized R&I topics for a first transnational call of CORE Organic Pleaides Network.
12 policy briefs (opens in new window)Will report on the policy briefs developed within the project. The Policy briefs will be produced based on the outcomes of the work carried out in WP2, WP3, WP4, WP5, WP6 and WP7.
Socio-economic impact assessment of scenarios, at sectoral and focus country level (opens in new window)Based on the farm typologies provided by Task 3.2, the socio-economic impacts of the selected scenarios for each country/sector combination (from input supply until farm gate) will be assessed. Results will include number of structures, geographical distribution, employment and, potentially, investments need for the transition for both farms and aquaculture. Further analysis will picture the costs of transition and economic viability of future organic farms.
Core Organic Pleiades network roadmap to 2030 and EU-level recommendations for better alignment of transnational R&I investments (opens in new window)Compilation of the identified national (or regional) legal and procedural obstacles to transnationally coordinated R&I investments and draft recommendations for alignment and harmonisation of R&I investments.
First batch of 10 Practice abstracts (opens in new window)The first 10 practice abstracts will summarise the practical recommendations coming from the work carried in WP5 and WP4 targeting organic practitioners.
Assessment of agricultural and aquaculture policy responses to the organic F2F targets (opens in new window)This deliverable will be an inventory of current policies for organic sector development compared with 2014-2020, an assessment of how MS have responded to the EU Commission’s organic target and an inventory on policy instruments in place for organic sector development
Scenarios for the development of the organic sector (opens in new window)"The deliverable ""D2.1 Scenarios for the development of the organic sector"" will compile the results of the work carried out in the WP2 including the historical trends and potential changes in view of expectations about future pivotal events (Task 2.1), the sub-scenarios developed for knowledge and information systems and organic aquaculture (Task 2.2), the multi- actor participatory backcasting analysis (Task 2.3) and the evaluation of the scenarios against various policy and business strategic options (Task 2.4)."
Analysis of barriers of conversion and recommendations for strengthening organic advisory services and capacity building (opens in new window)the report will include recommendations on mutual learning processes, the initiation of viable new conversion/organic advisory services in countries where they are not yet available, possible funding mechanisms or public-private partnerships to develop or scale up advisory services and relationships for a viable professional network beyond the project lifetime.
Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda appropriate for meeting the organic F2F targets (opens in new window)It reports the identified knowledge gaps preventing the achievement of the organic F2F targets and the R&I investments recommendations. The knowledge gaps take into consideration the scenarios developed in WP2 covering both business and environmental aspects.
Policy recommendations for the delivery of the organic F2F targets by 2030 and beyond (opens in new window)The policy recommendation will cover production, markets, knowledge and innovation and the feasibility of the organic F2F targets. Recommendations will propose short-term options within existing policy frameworks (2025-2027) as well as opportunities for policy developments in the next phase of CAP and Horizon Europe reform from 2028.
EU level CAPRI impact assessment for the organic sector (opens in new window)The CAPRI model will be firstly improved for supply modules for organic production. After that the improved CAPRI model will be used to identify the order of magnitude of the land use, economic and production impacts of changes implied by the given scenarios at the EU. The results of the impact assessment for the organic sector will be compiled in D3.1
Report on assortment change and active marketing effects on demand pattern (opens in new window)Experimental online supermarket studies will be carried to analyse the effect of supply-based assortment as well as brand strategy changes and nudges and changes in choice context, on demand patterns over time. Results will include about 300 consumers segments in each country who will repeatedly ‘shop’ in the online supermarket, while selected assortment characteristics and nudges will be altered over time.
Overview of material uploaded on Organic Farm Knowledge platform and Organic Eprints (opens in new window)Collection of materials from EU and national projects and addressing issues related to conversion to organic.
Synthesis of key drivers and lock-ins for organic sector development (opens in new window)This deliverable will be a structured inventory and synthesis of key drivers and lock-ins
Assessment of the knowledge and innovation systems for organic producers and value chain actors (opens in new window)This deliverable will be be a qualified inventory of existing knowledge and innovation systems for the organic sector in the focus countries.
Project website (opens in new window)The deliverable will report on the launch of the project website by month 3 and the explanations of its components.
It will include all the material developed during the lifespan of the project such as 27+2 digital country factsheets with characteristics of the organic sector, 6 articles for professional media (e.g. agriculture magazines), 7 scientific papers; and 15 short videos.
