The report will summarize test results from measurements of ultrasonic signal properties, such as speed and attenuation of the ultrasonic signal, etc., on samples before and after exposure to thermal aging. The output will be recommendations for measuring phase changes caused by thermal aging through selected ultrasonic characteristics as a part of In-Service Inspection Program.

The report will include the results of the comparison of rules-making and practices concerning swelling evaluation and calculation of RPV internals for PWR type reactors. The experience and safety requirements in the project developer countries related to RPV internals swelling calculations and evaluation will be explored, collected and analyzed

Deliverable is focused on the presentation of summarized relevant data, experience and test results from other scientific projects and materials databases (e.g. MatDB) utilized within the DELISA project. Identification of the critical issues with the primary circuit components based on the operational experience with importance of LTO safe operation of NPP WWER 440 and WWER 1000 and description of the degradation mechanisms for selected components of the available materials.

Methodology of mechanical testing for evaluation of thermal ageing processes (si apre in una nuova finestra)

The aim of this task is to design methodology and experimental matrix in order to obtain the maximum amount of information from the available materials according to the existing standards and laboratory practice. To accomplish this goal, standard as well non-standard testing methods will be taken into account, such a subsized specimen tests and Small Punch Test. Sample preparation procedure and transport logistics is part of the task.The following actions will be undertaken:- description of experimental methodology for standard and/or non-standard testing (subsized specimen, SPT etc.) of mechanical property changes- description of the possibilities for the ILS- cutting plans and experimental matrix- material sample preparation and transports to all partners

Cutting plans and experimental matrix - description of the experimental material which will be cut according to the cutting plan for specific methods into many samples, that will be delivered to individual contributors based on the preferences and need of each one.

The questionnaire should be agreed with all participants and should cover the following topics: Safety codes, standards, guidelines related to the available SSCs' relevant for swelling and thermal ageing during LTO expected for 60+ years, best practice recommendations for swelling and thermal ageing assessment and relevant literature on swelling and thermal ageing of SSCs'.
