SKILLBILL has seen significant advancements towards the project objectives, including the establishment of infrastructure, development of educational materials, and completion of promotional activities. These achievements have the potential to impact education, innovation, and policy in RES and STEM fields, contributing to the EU's goals for sustainability and carbon neutrality.
Within the project, a financial, technical, and administrative organization has been provided to the consortium to meet contractual commitments and reach the objectives in respect of costs and time frame constrains.
A comprehensive database of 154 European key stakeholders in RES, efficiency and fuel technology fields was established. 32 of these stakeholders, with an equal proportion of male and female, have been engaged and involved through semi-structured interviews to analyse the educational needs and steer the set-up of effective academic and training courses. Relevant stakeholders from, industry, policy and academy, were also engaged in two Mobilization and Mutual learning workshops to coordinate community action providing insights and policy recommendations focused on training paths and skills.
The organization of the 1-year European Master, called “European Specialization School in Sustainable Energy” was done and the management board has been established. Master’s degree title is awarded by the University of Tuscia (UNITUS), with the Unis of Metropolia, Seville and Utrecht officially supporting the organization of the program and teaching activities. UNITUS awards the title of “First Level Master” to the students that successfully complete the whole program. Within the project lifetime the first two cycles of the Master were concluded. In addition, the Vocational Education Training (VET) program has been finalized. This program includes two courses (Energy Manager and Photovoltaic Panels) and the relative Training of the Trainers. The courses were replicated in Italy and Slovakia.
The Universities defined the Virtual Reality (VR) content for the identified modules. VR content consists of 3D-modeled environments containing interactive objects. Whereas for the VET program a mobile training application combining gamified sections and augmented reality was developed.
The Green Portal (GP), launched in March 2023, represents a reference point for sustainability and RES providing reliable information for all, regardless of their educational level. In addition, to reduce gender gap the GP highlights examples of women excellence in STEM and RES to follow and be inspired by. Each material in the Portal is classified with the SKILLBILL Quality Label.
