ellpha.io: accelerate bias tackle and commercial footprint

Project description

Making the workforce more inclusive by detecting and addressing bias

Bias and stereotypes are deeply embedded in workplace culture, influencing hiring, career progression, and organisational dynamics. While diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives have made slow progress, the impact remains insufficient. Companies often struggle to uncover hidden biases in their talent management systems. The need for scalable, data-driven solutions has never been greater. In this context, the EU-funded Ellpha.io is a French DeepTech startup that leverages AI to tackle these challenges head-on. Ellpha’s innovative AI bias detection engine uncovers biases in real time. With its scalable solution, Talentuum, Ellpha empowers managers to act on bias and provides HR leaders with insights for better decision-making, accelerating diversity and inclusion efforts.

Objective

Ellpha is a French company founded in June 2018 by two women founders : Stephanie Creff (CEO) and Brigitte Ricou Bellan (advisor). They were joined at the end of 2021 by Cyrille Duverne, COO.
Ellpha’s vision is to create a fairer, more diverse world, using data and smart technology.
Ellpha’s goal is to empower people detecting and acting on bias to create a better world. ellpha.io wants to drive results fast, when progress on diversity, equity and inclusion has been slowly incremented.
Ellpha is a Social Science model designed into an AI. The DeepTech innovation resides in the AI bias detection engineTM. It offers unprecedented ability to uncover and surface hidden bias & stereotypes in real time and across growing data sets.
The company differs from its competitors because it addresses the full talent flywheel, it is agnostic and pure player and it is designed to improve existing tools and talent management processes. Ellpha tackles root cause not symptoms ; it offers a scalable and dynamic solution and is not looking for neutrality but for diversity and contextualization.
To date, ellpha.io offers a first commercial version of its solution, Talentuum, and of its “AI bias detection engineTM. It provides all managers with live coaching to avoid potential bias risks & with opportunities to self-reflect and amend their content. It also provides HR leaders with aggregated insights and analytics providing a picture of potential bias across segments and groups.
Ellpha’s challenge now relies on deepening its high-tech solution and accelerating its commercial development. Being awarded by the Women Tech EU program would help the company to overcome some of its clients challenges : easing the appropriation of the solution by the development of a web based onboarding and trial package as well as integrating the SaaS solution with a key HR software of the market. The coaching and mentoring would help the founders to make their message more understandable by their clients.
