Making Green Audiovisuals sustainable

Project description

A greener future for digital advertising

Audiovisual communications hold unparalleled power to reach out to target audiences. Yet, they also contribute to the world's overall carbon footprint. Viewers retain 95 % of the content of a video compared to a mere 10 % from text. Brands that use video marketing experience revenue growth rates that outpace their counterparts. The EU-funded GreenVisuals project challenges the conventional methods of CO2 calculation. Unlike traditional approaches that compute carbon footprints after video production is completed, GreenVisuals generates granular carbon footprint measurements in real time during production, fostering a proactive approach to sustainability. In addition, GreenVisuals connects, in real time, the impact of alternative choices to the related costs, targeting a real behavioural change to "greener processes as a path to financial optimisation."

Objective

Audiovisuals create impactful communication. Viewers retain 95% of a video message versus 10% for text. Brands that use video marketing experience revenues that grow 49% faster. Even this submission includes a video.
GreenVisuals supports TheGreenShot’s entry in the market of producing sustainable commercials– starting from its current offering for films and TV series.
I am Véronique Pevtschin, CEO of TheGreenShot – part of a gender-balanced founding team - 2 women, 2 men. TheGreenShot has brought to market the 1st solution that accelerates the move to sustainable productions for films and TV series. Developed over 3 years,
How did we achieve that? By thinking differently.
1) Today, carbon footprints are generated by accounting teams that start from financials. They compute footprints from how much work costs. We compute footprints starting from how work is done.
2) Accounting teams compute carbon footprints after the facts. We compute carbon footprints in real-time.
3) We also share granular carbon footprints in real-time with people on the field. Numbers relevant to individuals and teams, empowering them to act.
4) We propose alternative solutions and providers directly inside our app.
Our automations remove the additional costs of computing footprints and generate custom reports that facilitate certifications and ESG reporting.
In 15 months, TheGreenShot has gained market traction with 10 clients in Europe, US and Canada and professional recognition through 5 awards. Its team has grown from 4 to 18 people.
We have the innovative solution, the team and the ambition – this grant is ideally positioned in content and timing to help us enter a new, yet accessible, market. Structured around two phases - creating the right business channels and preparing the optimal content for our next investment round - GreenVisuals helps TheGreenShot reach its next growth milestone.
