Résumé du contexte et des objectifs généraux du projet

The main objective of CNS DSP (Data Service Provision) is to accelerate market uptake of communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS) data services. The project aims at enabling efficient sharing of CNS data between ANSPs and providing it to other stakeholders (e.g. airspace users, industry, airport authorities, regulators, ATM organisations, aircraft manufacturers, drone operators, UTM, non-aviation enterprises etc.), in line with the ADSP concept. CNS DSP is thus also an enabler of virtual ATC centres. It will also encourage creation of added-value services for various aviation, UTM and other stakeholders, enabling the valorisation of ANSPs CNS data for the entire aviation community.

The project specifies three new technological SESAR Solutions: Multisensor Surveillance Tracking Services, ATM Services for Tactical and Post-OPS and Real-Time GNSS Monitoring and Interference Service. In addition to specifying technical requirements for the data provision platform, the CNS DSP project assesses and takes into account data governance, security, regulatory and standardisation aspects, as well as the overall business model.

One of the first completed tasks within the first months of the project are consolidation of the covered use cases and definition of the platform architecture.

The project delivered successfully the Initial Data Pack deliverables and 2 Intermediate Data Pack deliverables. The core deliverables of the initial datapack include initial versions of OSED/SPR/INTEROP, standardisation and regulation documents, technical specifications, validation plan, data management plan and business canvas. Development, fine-tuning and testing of the central platform software modules has been ongoing in parallel. The concerned consortium members also agreed data exchange aspects, such as data types, formats, protocols and interfaces during the first reporting period.

The first Technical Review was held in April 2024 and was passed successfully.

Data exchange protocols and interfaces have been specified and implemented. They are currently being fine-tuned to ensure optimal and reliable connection between the platform, input data providers and service clients. Development of software modules of the central data platform has started and the initial versions of a number of key modules are already available. Surveillance tracker is developed and is planned to be deployed soon. Developed platform functionalities are integrated as soon as feasible, to attain a minimum viable product rapidly and secure sufficient product maturity by spring 2025, when the validation campaign starts. At this stage, the current version of the central CNS DSP platform is already able to receive, parse, store and display the input data correctly.

As part of further research and demonstration, a validation campaign consisting of 7 exercises is planned to be carried out in 2025. The exercises will address reception input data, processing, internal and output via the standardised interfaces. The campaign also includes a coupled real-time simulation exercise with fellow SESAR3 project VITACY to demonstrate how CNS DSP services can benefit virtual ATC centres.

The project has been participating actively in the Virtual Centre Flagship meetings to tackle common open points key to reach the deployment phase in a timely and harmonised maner. CNS DSP volunteered to take part in EASA SOA task force activities to tackle data governance, usage of cloud, handling of data sources outside of the EU and more.
