Descripción del proyecto

Reducir las desigualdades de género en la educación CTIM

El objetivo del proyecto STREAM IT, financiado con fondos europeos, es colmar la brecha de género existente en la educación, la investigación y la innovación en los campos de la ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas (CTIM o STEM, por sus siglas en inglés) aplicando el Manifiesto europeo por una educación y unas carreras CTI(A)M que tengan en cuenta la perspectiva de género. A través de herramientas e iniciativas innovadoras, el proyecto se centra en los jóvenes, sobre todo en las chicas, para mejorar sus competencias y orientación profesional en los campos CTIM. STREAM IT promoverá unas carreras inclusivas mediante el fomento de redes sostenibles entre los proveedores de educación CTIM y los agentes de investigación, desarrollo e innovación. Además, se pretende desarrollar herramientas transferibles de uso generalizado y formular recomendaciones políticas para los responsables de la toma de decisiones a nivel regional, nacional y europeo. Mediante el intercambio de conocimientos, la eliminación de barreras y estereotipos basados en el género y el fomento de la colaboración entre empresas CTIM, instituciones educativas y partes interesadas afines, el equipo de STREAM IT trabaja para mejorar la canalización de personal cualificado y crear un ecosistema CTIM más diverso y equitativo.

Objetivo

The main objective of ST(R)E(A)M IT is to initiate change about the persisting gender inequalities in STEM education, research, and innovation to contribute to the implementation of the ‘The European Manifesto for gender-inclusive STE(A)M education and careers.’ The envisioned aim of the project will be achieved by 1) empowering underrepresented groups in STEM, 2) piloting and fostering the integration of STEAM approaches in STEM education by synthesising previous knowledge and networks, 3) promoting gender-inclusive career paths and increasing the talent pipeline in the STEM fields together with the attractiveness of STEM careers, 4) supporting STEM education providers through knowledge sharing, capacity building to remove gender-based barriers including gender stereotypes in STEM education. By encouraging sustainable collaboration of STEM-oriented businesses, secondary and higher education institutions, research organisations, as well as informal science education establishments, NGOs, and civil society organisations, ST(R)E(A)M IT provides several tools for closing the existing gender gap in STEM education and career.
