Specific climate considerations and building typological classification

Content of report: Definition of the building typologies and the climatic zones where BIOBUILD concept can be integrated. Data from the EU standards Directive (i.e. Directive (EU) 2018/844), literature, and EU projects will be used to identify the building requirements and identify reference-building typologies for residential and not residential sector in Europe. The outcome of this task will be used as a base for the simulations to prove the replicability of BIOBUILD concept and for the activity related to LCA and integration studies.The report is linked to T1.1.

Technical, market codes, and certification strategies

Content of report: A summary of existing national and/or local regulatory framework that could support the market development setting the basic requirements of BIOBUILD concept. It is based on a review of the European and national certification standards, technical and marked codes of the EU countries to support the activities related to standardization and business development. Possible barriers encountered in the market deployment will be identified. An operative analysis will be conducted to follow the identified standards to obtain the required certifications (i.e., CE standards) in the design and production process.The report is linked to T1.2 and T1.3.

Definition and selection of KPIs

Content of report: Selection of proper KPIs is fundamental to allow the performance assessment of BIOBUILD concept under various aspects. Performance indicators (PIs) will be selected based on a literature analysis of KPIs defined for the built environment. Technical, economic and environmental PIs will be outlined.The report is linked to T1.4.
