The project partners mapped the existing twin skills requirements for the regional maritime industry, based on the collection and analysis of data from local stakeholders and relevant agencies.
A systematic review was performed to map the ESCO Occupations (level 3) onto the five maritime sectors, namely, (a) Shipping, (b) Ports and terminals, (c) Shipbuilding and ship repair, (d) Supply chain management and maritime logistics, (e) Marine technology and equipment.
The maritime sector's green and digital skills gap was identified through the development of an online survey. Applying participatory approach with stakeholders, the main challenges for the maritime sector were identified.
Based on that a Regional maritime industry twin skills needs’ analysis was elaborated.
The Digital collaboration node was elaborated and publicly available since July 2024. It provides:
• A landing page that disseminates the work and the content of the MariTech project.
• A news page to disseminate and increase the awareness of the MariTech’s project work and contribution.
• User authentication, and access based on specific roles and by supporting authentication with external providers (currently configured to work with Google and Linkedin).
• A basic structure for the online training material and a set of metadata fields to provide information for each course and ease the navigation through the platform and the identification of courses based on the user’s interests and domain.
The collaboration node can be accessed through:
https://maritech-node.eu/(si apre in una nuova finestra)Representatives of all partnering countries joined the Task force and signed the memorandum. It is foreseen however, that the task force will be further extended with representatives from SMEs (to be selected within WP 3. Two of the partners are also VET providers, thus ensuring representation of the VET sector. Cleantech Bulgaria is also a member of Pact for Skills and of the Deep Tech Talent initiative, thus bringing specific knowledge and point of view to the Task Force meetings.
All training materials are available on the collaboration node and access is free. Participants may register, enrol in courses, complete the modules, and follow the resources at their convenience (see,
https://maritech-node.eu/course/(si apre in una nuova finestra)). The courses are self-paced, allowing individuals to learn in their own time and according to their personal schedules. All courses prepared by the Maritech consortium members include an assessment quiz that is required for completing the course.
Training materials prepared by other external, relevant EU projects are linked through the node, supporting its users to identify existing, external material that is relevant to the maritime domain.
The MariTech Talent Programme has been piloted and implemented and total of 33 participants joined the programme in a mix of online and phisical training activities. The programme was also accredited as micro credential within CUT, providing the participants with two credits.
A scale-up model was elaborated introducing the conceptual framework and initial roadmap for expanding the MariTech Talent Programme beyond its pilot phase, enabling broader adoption across the European maritime sector
