Solutions for CRitical Raw materials - a European Expert Network 3

Project description

European expert advice on critical raw materials

Raw materials are crucial for the European economy, but ensuring reliable access to certain resources has become an increasing concern. To address this issue, the European Commission has identified Critical Raw Materials (CRMs), such as rare earth elements, cobalt, and niobium. The EU initiated the SCRREEN project and its successor, SCRREEN2, to tackle this challenge. The EU-funded project SCRREEN3 will build upon the expertise and groundwork laid by its predecessors. Its primary goal is to establish and mobilise an Expert Network capable of providing specialised advice to inform decision-making at the EU level. This Expert Network will encompass all raw materials and their value chains screened in the CRM assessment.

Objective

Based on the experience and background of SCRREEN1 and SCRREEN2, the prolongation of the project SCRREEN3 will continue to develop and animate an Expert Network which will contribute to expert advice in support of decision-making at the EU level covering all the raw materials and their value chains screened in the CRMs assessment.
