Campus Iberus is the Consortium of International Excellence of the Ebro Valley bringing together four public universities from neighbouring regions in northeast Spain: Universidad de Zaragoza, Universidad Pública de Navarra, Universitat de Lleida and Universidad de La Rioja. Campus Iberus strategy is set on the principles of aggregation, internationalisation and specialisation on five strategic areas, in line with the priorities of the smart specialization strategies (RIS3) of the four regions involved (Aragon, Navarre, La Rioja and Lleida in Catalonia): 1) Agri-Food & Nutrition; 2) Health Technologies; 3) Energy & Sustainability; 4) Social & Territorial Development; 5) Circular Bio-Economy. DCs will be recruited in 2 calls open for 2 months to apply for a variety of research topics across those 5 areas. Appointments will be no later than M12 (1st call) and M19 (2nd call) to offer 48 months contracts. The last 6 months of the contracts will be fully financed by own funds of Campus Iberus universities to cover 4 years even if exceeding the programme (M60+6). The programme will offer DCs excellent supervision and professional development, counting with preidentified potential supervisors proving experience and work in multidisciplinary projects and large networks of collaborators. A total of 116 academic (48%) and non-academic partners (52%) have associated to this programme to provide secondments, trainings and career enhancing opportunities, besides the networking events and special training programme organised by Campus Iberus. This programme will make an imprint on the internationalisation and excellence that is long lasting at the institutional, regional, national and international levels.
