Universal Palletizing Software & Modular Hardware for Multi-Brand Robots

Objective

Robomation develops a universal end‑of‑line palletizing ecosystem that makes industrial robotics plug and play for SMEs and large plants. It combines a brand‑agnostic Robot Integration Layer, an operator‑ready no‑code HMI, traceability with OPC UA/MQTT connectors to ERP/MES, and modular hardware in one stack. A kinematic planning layer pre‑checks moves across brands, detects software and physical singularities, and generates jerk‑limited, collision‑aware paths before any command reaches a robot. For cells with more than one robot, a central controller coordinates jobs, balances load and manages all robots via a single interface. The project will raise the technology from TRL‑4 to TRL‑6 through pilots in food, packaging/logistics and automotive environments. Targets include ≥10 picks/min with ≤3 mm placement error, ≥99.0% pick success, HMI setup in ≤30 minutes, and 100% event capture with round‑trip latency ≤250 ms. Digital twin workflows cut downtime and integration time, while multi‑brand drivers and cobot compatibility remove vendor lock‑in and broaden safe deployment.

The approach blends iterative engineering with real‑world validation. A unified interface and tested drivers cover at least five robot brands; the HMI and reusable pattern library let operators configure SKUs without coding; ERP/MES connectivity secures end‑to‑end traceability. Pre‑compliance work addresses the EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230, ISO 10218, ISO/TS 15066, EMC and LVD. AI is bounded, human‑supervised and used for non‑safety functions such as maintenance predictions and parameter hints.

The outcome is an industry‑ready, pre‑commercial platform for end‑of‑line palletizing that demonstrates faster deployments and lower total cost of ownership, supported by partner LOIs and a go‑to‑market plan for integrator licensing and OEM partnerships. This positions Robomation for scale‑up after TRL‑6 with documented evidence and replication assets.
