Intensive program for transfer of knowledge to Eastern European reference pole for micro- and nanotechnologies - NANOTEC-EST

Ziel

The proposal addresses the strategic objectives of the Marie Curie ToK scheme with the main emphasis on the faster integration of the Romanian research community into ERA. The important goal of the Marie Curie Actions is to cover with priority the needs of the Candidate States to develop new areas of competence in order to ensure the local capabilities to participate at the European effort to social-economic growth.

The major objective of the project is to develop an intensive training program based on the ToK action to RTD and training platforms to be developed under the coordination of the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest in the NANOTEC-EST centre. As referring to the areas of research that will be open to researchers the transfer of knowledge action intends to focus its main activities to some directions that could valorize the existing experience and national traditions, as well as to new trends required by European integration, as follow: new nanostructured materials and systems, new intelligent miniaturized systems and quality control, biophotonics and lasers.

One of the key actions of the project will be to enhance the process of transferring knowledge and expertise in nanosciences and nanotechnologies for industrial valorization more than to obtain a narrow specialization of the researchers involved. The content of project includes three main phases: ingoing, outgoing and return phase, involving both experienced and more experienced researchers belonging to the host (UPB) and nine partners: CEA-Grenoble, CEA-Paris, INPT-Toulouse, INEGI-Porto, TUD-Darmstadt, DTU-Lyngby, BUEHLER-Duseldorf, IFW-Dresden, TU-Delft.

Some difficulties in recruitment of more experienced specialists are expected and a strong managerial program to overcome this aspect is proposed. The cooperation between Western European countries with much expertise in ToK actions and the host institution will facilitate the transfer of competence and skills in order to enhance European coherence.
