Neutrino Oscillations in long-baseline accelerator experiments

Final Activity Report Summary - NOLBE (Neutrino Oscillations in long-baseline accelerator experiments)

The project helped the fellow, previously awarded the Marie Curie Individual Fellowship, in reintegration with the host institution, the University of Warsaw. The computer system, including hardware and software, to effectively work on the project has been created. The reported work concerns the effective, low-background separation of different types of neutrino interactions in MINOS, the long-baseline accelerator experiment. A novel, 3D approach to the reconstruction of tracks in the MINOS detectors has been developed to increase the separation power between electron-neutrino charged current, neutral current and muon-neutrino induced charged current neutrino interactions.
