Final Activity Report Summary - GLYTRANS (Biosynthesis of plant cell wall polysaccharides, glyco-metabolons and host-pathogen interaction)
The main contributions and novelty of the proposed research include:
(1) demonstration of processing and design approaches to the materials with silica nanofillers / carbon nanotubes;
(2) development of preliminary validation tools to predict performance of those materials across the length scales at both statics and further possibilities at dynamics;
(3) trial measurements of the microscopic viscoelastic properties at the filler-matrix interface by dynamical nanoindentation technique (nanoDMA).
Particular attention was paid to the applications of the materials in aerospace (fan blades).
