SMEDIS (SME Specific Dissemination Network for Business Best Practice) is a European network of experts and companies. The network provides new ideas, methods, cases and tools on how to improve business processes. The network also assists companies in finding partners for development efforts and facilitates benchmarking at a European level.
The concept of SMEDIS is to collect examples of Best Practices, to develop a transfer methodology and to make the case studies available to a clear, targeted segment of SMEs. Five general sources for best practice solutions are taken into consideration:
- reference projects developed by SMEDIS partners
- national funded research projects
- companies which obtain awards
- publications about Best Practices solutions
- other European projects.
