Obiettivo
Due to the size of the construction sector in Europe as well as the long life of the structures it produces, this sector is a trigger for strong, multifaceted, social and economic effects within the member States. In order for the EU to further achieve both strong economic growth a high quality of living standards, the construction sector will need to address major technological and economic challenges.
BUILD-NOVA supported by the European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP), is an initiative aimed achieving the commitment of the entire sector to a common vision: this envisions the sector becoming customer-driven, sustainable, competitive, responsible, knowledge-based and a vital contributor to the quality of life of citizens of Europe.
BUILD-NOVA will help to create processes that better link the financial aspects of innovation to the construction sector. The lack of funding being a recognised obstacle that hinders the implementation of many new innovative business ideas in the construction sector.
Some of actions that will be included in the project are:
- Creation of a network composed of market, finance and technology representatives.
- Identification of construction's s needs which are relevant to innovation financing.
- Organisation of business forums with participation of the different parties focused on the discussion of sector relevant issues related to technology and innovation.
- Linking with other European networks already working on innovation as well as with projects and initiatives around the ECTP. In this way raising awareness of both sides those in the construction sector and those in the financial and investment sectors.
