COMBOE is a framework facilitating the specification and construction of component-based distributed systems. The framework integrates methods for systems specification with tools supporting systems construction. This has been achieved by defining a reference architecture supported by a meta-model, a Component Modelling Language, and tools for code-generation. COMBOE also includes a Business Object Methodology.
COMBOE supports software system developers in:
reducing the time required to bring developments to market
improving quality on applications
meeting market needs
The main result of the OBOE project is the Component Business Object Environment (COMBOE) framework. COMBOE consists of the following elements:
BO - Concepts: to support Business Objects.
BOM - Methodology: to develop distributed systems based on Business Objects.
BOF-D - Development Environment: supports the Business Object concepts during development.
