Passport to RTD - Internationalisation of LSH SMEs

Obiettivo

The project PASSPORT to RTD brings together 7 leading European regions in the life science and health sectors through organisations that are directly in contact with more than 2500 LSH SMEs.

Two other organisations, inno-TSD and Eurobiobiz, complete the knowledge and competence of the consortium with their long track records in EU Research and Technology Development (RTD) activities within the LSH domain.

The leader of the project is Scottish Enterprise, one of the regions of excellence awarded by the EC in the PAXIS programme, and in charge of the internationalisation of SME's theme. In order to cover the economic and technological intelligence objectives and to reach the 15 % target of SME involvement in existing and future RTD activities, PASSPORT has designed a detailed and concrete methodology with the following objectives:

The purpose of the project is, on one hand, to enable the sample of LSH SMEs to become more aware of the opportunities and benefits of EU RTD projects and to disseminate expert practices between them to develop new RTD projects. On the other hand, for the more mature SMEs, the consortium will design a specific task force of European experts in technology transfer, EU programs, and LSH technology to set-up new EU funded projects.

The project aims to reach 700 LSH SMEs trough "information days", "training sessions" and "project surgery" services adapted to the technological and strategic needs of above mentioned companies. PASSPORT will enhance the visability of SMEs within the LSH sector and will ensure an attractive environment for EU RTD programs.

Through networking and dissemination activities, all Life Science and Health clusters in Europe will be able to benefit from this expertise and will, therefore; facilitate the innovation and internationalisation processes of their SMEs.
