The DERISSA D66 3D graphics rasterizer (3D accelerator) provides hardware acceleration for real-time 3D graphics applications, including virtual reality, arcade games, and simulation systems. DERISSA D66 is implemented using a programmable circuit, which can easily be used to tailor the rasterizer to fulfil any custom need.
Applications of the DERISSA chip include all kinds of real-time interactive 3D systems (virtual reality systems, location-based entertainment systems, arcade games, simulators, PC add-ons, ...).
However, the rasterizer is specially well adapted for low-volume and medium volume markets where other commercially available solutions do not fit. Thanks to its adaptability, the DERISSA rasterizer can be tailored to satisfy any kind of special custom need (in arcade games, for instance). The DERISSA rasterizer is NOT applicable to non-real-time 3D systems (like CAD systems).
