The eBusiness research by Euro-Asian exchange programme

Objetivo

The eBEREA aims to set up a thematic joint exchange programme dedicated to advance research and higher education in the fields of electronic business (eBusiness) in EU and China. The programme will reinforce existing research collaboration through seconding and hosting researchers. The aim is to actively transfer knowledge with a view to generating strategic impacts in the thematic research area as well as developing sustainable collaboration between EU and China in research and in education.
The thematic focus of this exchange programme is electronic business, more specifically business modelling and design; related financial services for consumers and citizens; and the institutional arrangements such as regulation and trust enhancing mechanisms on advocating the aforementioned topics for prospering eSociety.
In China, electronic commerce/business is one of the key areas in long-term development of science and technology (S&T). Its importance is continuously increasing and the challenges and emergent issues in codes of conduct, financing, and legislation are recognised. Therefore the S&T responsible researchers in the fields of eBusiness in China are keen to exchange knowledge with their colleagues in Europe.
For Europe, the research collaboration with China provides a new opportunity to study eBusiness of high volumes and high growth rates: the largest and busiest eBusiness sites in the world are Chinese. The decisions made by Chinese authorities and economic players regarding regulation and trust enhancing mechanisms are of global importance and crucial to the development of global eBusiness environment.
eBEREA cooperation with the key developers of Chinese eBusiness and financial education gives an opportunity for the European partners to influence the development of eBusiness research and practises in China also in long term.
The eBEREA exchange programme is implemented by a network of five EU universities and three universities in China.
