Final Report Summary - TEAM (Transferring knowledgE on Academic knowledge Management)
In the project 18 secondments were conducted and 3 researchers were recruited by the commercial partners in the consortium. In course of the project each fellow on average published more than one scientific paper. Furthermore, events in the field of Recommender Systems and Science 2.0 have been organised and conducted. For example summer schools, workshops and special tracks at conferences have been held. Here the goal has been to bridge the domain of research with the area of practitioners.
The work of seconded fellows has been made publically available in form of working demonstration applications, where the Mendeley Labs web-site serves as example. The project’s outcome has been disseminated in the media, both online as well as in traditional, printed media.
On the social aspect the project had a profound impact on the careers of many of the fellows. Out of the seven seconded fellows from the scientific partner now three of them are working in the private sector and one fellow moved from the private sector into the research area. The experience gained in being seconded did contribute in their respective decision making process. Three of the fellows were promoted in course of the project, where one managed to achieve professorship, the other two were promoted from a post doc position into a division manager role.
Technologies, which were developed and refined within the project, are in part now being set to production at the commercial entities. Further research output it expected to find its way into the respective products and solutions. In terms of scientific output, at least one of the research strands that started within the project has been successfully continued in follow-up projects.
In terms of cooperation between the involved entities, all of them are willing to strengthen and cultivate their cooperation in the future, either by joint future projects or as networking partner.
