Result description
This report, developed under the under the ACCESS (Arctic Climate Change, Economy and Society) project, aims to identify key factors limiting the monitoring and short-range weather forecasting capabilities, and give a foundation for recommendations for a future cost effective evolution, of the Arctic forecasting system. There are challenges connected to the Arctic climate, physical processes and conditions in numerical weather forecasting. The environmental conditions will change and the industry will have to adapt these changes. For enabling the industry to do so there was a need to look over existing regulatory frameworks and start a multi-stakeholder dialogue to find out where and how aquaculture operations can move or change their operations. Thus, a broader integrative approach is recommended for successful governance of the Arctic region.
