Obiettivo
The Euromech Series includes four scientific meetings: the 6th European Solid Mechanics Conference, the 10th European Mechanics of Materials Conference, the 6th European Fluid Mechanics Conference and the 11th European Turbulence Conference to be organised in 2006-2007 in the corners of a quadrangle formed by Budapest, Warsaw, Stockholm and Porto. These conferences are held under the auspices of the European Mechanics Society (EUROMECH), an international non-governmental non-profit scientific organization. The objective of EUROMECH is to engage in all activities intended to promote in Europe the research and development of mechanics as a branch of physical science and engineering. The goal of the Euromech Series is to offer early stage researchers scientific training on the state-of-the-art in solid and fluid mechanics through plenary lectures and mini-symposia. By submitting a poster or an oral presentation, they are also given an opportunity to join the European research community in mechanics. The Conferen ces also provide opportunities for scientists and engineers from all of Europe to discuss their current research. A participant will leave one of these Conferences knowing more and understanding more than upon arrival, and much of that gain may not be dire ctly related to the scientist's current research. Conferences in the series focus on general, basic questions in mechanics, a fundamental subject in engineering studies. Financial support of the EU is sought in order to reduce expenses for early stage res earchers, who could not attend the Conferences otherwise. The hosts for the events are well-recognized universities: Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Univers ity of Porto and the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. Chairmen of the Organizing Committees are scientists highly regarded by the international research community.
