Its research focuses on three key aspects of intelligent agents and multiagent systems: Dealing with agent autonomy, learning to communicate and engineering open systems. MicroArt is a partner of eTumour project and has the responsibility of applying Agents into the distributed system for brain tumour diagnosis.

Mariola Mier and Xavier Rafael, who work in MicroArt, are the persons who would stay for a year in the Agent Group of the University of Edinburgh, in order to boost their knowledge of Agents technology.
