Final Report Summary - SILACOFECC (New Anionic Ligands for Base Metal Catalysis)
The SilaCoFeCC project is concerned with the development of new silicon-based ligands in view of applications in first-row transition-metal catalysis. During the project period, a series of new silicon compounds incorporating N-pyrrolyl substituents have been synthesized. In particular, hydrogen atoms bound to silicon have been shown to migrate to a carbon atom in compounds incorporating 2-(aryliminomethyl)pyrrolyl substituents. This reaction has been investigated in details, and the new compounds generated this way may serve as precursors to useful ligands.
