Obiettivo
This project pretends to form the candidate in the field of information in game theoretical models. The motivation for this line of research is that, within the field of game theory, the games with either incomplete or imperfect information are the most widely applied to economic situations. More specifically, the main focus of this project is on repeated games with complete information but imperfect monitoring. A promising line of research that has traditionally attracted game theorists. Being the latter attraction specially strong in the last few years because of the recent advances in the topic. Moreover, the timeliness of this project is supported, for instance, by the recent award of the Nobel Prize in Economics to R. Aumann, being some of his major contributions inside the field in which this project is enclosed.
The applicant would be hosted by the Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences Department of the Kellogg School of Management and by the Department of Economics of Northwestern University. Northwestern University is ranked best university in the world in Microeconomic Theory and Game Theory and is currently very active in the field of this project. The supervisor of the research project is the renowned researcher E. Kalai. The return institution is the University of Vigo, which belongs to a less-favoured region (Galicia, Spain). The supervisor is G. Bergantiños and the applicant would be reintegrated in the Research Group of Economic Analysis, whose members are experienced researchers with lot o f international collaborations.
This project is quite inter-disciplinary, since the economic situations that it covers require advanced mathematical techniques. We want to emphasize that the applicant's current background and skills perfectly suit this project. He has an excellent mathematical background and has research experience in top economic departments both in Europe and in the United States.
