RES Technology Export Promotion

Obiettivo

The cluster will have two distinct vertical tasks: The first is a more global and strategy task on renewable energy export while the second vertical task focuses specifically on biomass activities between EU and the Czech Republic.
The aim of the first vertical task is to identify those measures that will best assist The European Union's renewable energy industries (Wind, Photovoltaics, Solar Thermal, Small Hydro and Biomass) to capture a significant proportion of the world market for renewable Energy Technologies (RETs).
This will be achieved through the preparation of technology-specific export strategy reports for each of the RETs mentioned above. The individual strategies will be consolidated into an RET Export Masterplan which will identify promotion measures common to all technologies.
The results of the action will be disseminated to key actors from policy, finance and industry environments at all levels (local, national, regional and international) through direct mailing of the Masterplan Executive Summary. The Masterplan components will also be made available via the Internet through the World-wide Information System for Renewable Energy.
In addition, the Masterplan will be officially launched at a seminar in Strasbourg to draw the measures proposed therein to the attention of the European Parliament.
The technology specific strategies will be developed through a series of industry consultative workshops and focus groups. Following a kick-off meeting, which will define the essential areas for market analysis to be undertaken by all technology sectors, each industry will undertake high-level brainstorming seminars to identify the EU industries' key strengths and weaknesses, and the global market opportunities and threats, that will be required to undertake the strategy definition. Subsequent in-house focus groups will serve to complete the data collection.

Through a second series of high-level industry seminars the data collected under Phase 1 will be analysed, and suitable export measures to capitalise on industry strengths and market opportunities will be defined. The task partners will collate the information into a cohesive strategy for each technology sector.
All task partners will then cooperate under the task leader to draw the individual strategies into a coherent RET Export Masterplan. This will be published in a style to create maximum impact, whilst ensuring the measures proposed are immediately accessible to the main implementers.

The second task aims at promoting joint implementation projects between the Union and Czech Republic, by taking the exceptional opportunity of a large TV serial broadcasted on the Czech state television.

The Task will first define the framework of the collaboration between the Union and Czech Republic. Information materials will be produced and disseminated, through a TV serial, a brochure, a video, internet means, seminars and business trips so that key actors both in the Union and Czech Republic will be identified.

Afterwards, a follow up process will start in order to support the initiatives and ideas of projects that have emerged from previous tasks. AEBIOM will centralize the demand for collaboration between Union and Czech stakeholders and will sub-contract well targeted actions. These actions can take the forms of small studies, consultancy, elaboration of projects. A position paper will also be issued.

The main output of this task is the launching of joint implementation projects.

Common actions between the two vertical tasks will be undertaken like information exchange, business trips and position paper.
