Obiettivo
The aim of the KNOW IT ToK action is to provide 5 experienced researchers and the project proposers with a complex environment of knowledge, methodologies and IT technologies enabling the possibility to support European SMEs in the product innovation processes, through a combination of information tool for market and technology trend analysis, QFD (quality function development) and TRIZ (theory of Inventive problem solving) methodologies.
The overall KNOW IT ToK action will have the following main outcomes:
-To provide the 5 exchanged researchers and the project proposers with specific knowledge (through seminars and on-the-job research actions) on SMEs innovation processes methodologies and IT tools
-To develop an information analysis tool able to support SMEs in the identifications and analysis of marketing related information for the development of new products, and to search an analyse technology trends.
This will require to study how to deal with heterogeneous information sources and weakly structured processes. Specific Ontologies will be studied and developed to formalise knowledge intensive processes -To study how the integration of QFD and TRIZ methodologies with the market and technology trend analysis tool could support the identification of innovative product characteristics.
This would include the development of an "innovation process taxonomy", to identify possible product innovation along specific technology trends
The project will face one of the main challenges of European SMEs: how to develop a systemic process of product innovation to keep competitiveness in the international market.
The transfer of Knowledge program will last 24 months, 5 experienced researchers will be exchanged between one dynamic SME and two Universities,with a well defined set of training and transfer of knowledge activities that will favour the researchers carriers and the proposers competitiveness
