Obiettivo
The European Researcher's night ARES will be organized by the Apulia Region, with the support of ARTI - the Regional Agency for the Technology and the Innovation - and the Apulian Universities. It will be animated by games, interactive activities and scientific experiments. The manifestation will be opened to the public at large and will demonstrate the importance of the scientific job for the progress of the society.
The initiative addresses in particular way young people, encouraging them, in such an occasion, to consider the research like a possible profession and Europe like a dynamic place where to study and work. The night will be animated by different attractions organized in all the regional territory and connected in a virtual way through web TV. The activities will be carried out in different laboratories and departments of the five regional Universities and in some sites of cultural interest.
The planned activities can be summarised in two categories:
- activities aiming at the scientific spreading, as - simultaneous guided tours/visits in the university laboratories and sites in the region (Open Labs); - pro-active and hands-on experiments in the laboratories of the five universities (S&T demonstrations);
- entertainment activities, covering different topics such as theatre, cinema and music related to science, in order to amuse people's interest and make the event strongly attractive (entertainment events).
Both typology of activities will likely satisfy different age targets, from children to adults, not forgetting teen-agers. In order to support the regional innovation system, a specific promotion of the Human Mobility programme will be manage within the ARES APULIA project.
More effort will be devoted in defining and promoting a permanent result aimed to favour a stronger presence of the Apulian researchers within the European Research Area through new regional initiative, to be held periodically in the region.
