Obiettivo
TRIG aims to establish a new solid biomass CHPC-technology on the European market. Whereas the exclusive heat supply and combined heat- and power production from solid biomass are very well-known and represent the focus of diverse activities, the CHPC technology remained basically unnoticed. Thereby e.g. the experience from CHPC-plants run by natural gas show a higher workload per year based on its cold-production by heat, compared to pure CHP-plants that mostly stand idle in summer.
This aspect is of a specific importance for capital-extensive (biomass-) plants. Additionally, a considerable increase in need for cold is estimated for the future especially in the area of air-conditioning and the cooling of food and storage. With the support of biogenous fired CHPC-technology, the quality of using renewable energy sources will be increased, because highest system efficiencies enable maximum fuel utilization.
