The overall objective of the SMR project has been to develop, test and validate a European Resilience Management Guideline through three pilot projects. The Guideline , and the five tools that compose it, have been co-created during the project This co- creation process, were academics developing the tools and end users from the cities have intensively cooperated has been one of the key reasons for the success of the project. The pilot projects have been conducted in the cities of Glasgow, Kristiansand and Donostia - San Sebastian. In addition, the project has fostered a network of experts and public authorities who work in the context of city resilience in order to be able to act as mutually supporting functional units of a growing and fortified European Resilience Backbone. SMR project has also conducted standardization activities, where additional cities, which were not part of the consortium, and representatives from other simultaneous research projects have taken part. SMR has also participated in activities oriented to integrate and coordinate its results with other DRS7 research projects. Finally, has implemented a significant amount of dissemination events, where project results have been presented.
