Cooperative ITS for Mobility in European Cities

Risultati finali

Final roadmap

It is not just a revision of the draft roadmap (deliverable D3.2), but will also include a short documented review by each partner city, and a summary of these reviews. It will also include comments from external cities. The purpose of these city perspectives is that it will give, for the first time, a clear depiction of the collective view of the potential buying market, which the suppliers can then respond to.

City status and requirements

This deliverable summarises the city workshops and the cities' inputs as described above. The deliverable will be sectioned according to cities incl. regional market characteristics which are related to the specific city location in Europe. Each section describes the transport challenges experienced by the given city, before current strategies and use of C-ITS solutions are presented. The sections end with a description of the cities barriers towards greater use of C-ITS and what ground needs to be covered for increased take-up.

Report on common results and regional differences

Report will present common views and regional differences as well as recommendations and expectations of local and regional suppliers of C-ITS end-to-end solutions for cities. Information will be gathered at 4 one-day regional supplier workshops (Germany for German speaking countries, Norway for Scandinavia, UK for UK-Suppliers, Spain for southern Europe).

City Pool Report

Report on the purpose and work of the City Pool, which will be established in order to give a wider base for gathering needs and requirements, defining use cases with suppliers and defining potential C-ITS solutions.

Draft roadmap

The report will describe the results of a detailed analysis on the practicality of the various likely C-ITS options as identified in WP2, with respect to the factors identified. It will include City partners' perspectives on the evaluation factors in the Framework in order to enable an understanding of potential levels of variation.

Data base extension

Report on a survey which considers emerging C-ITS products, benefits for cities, and their commercial expectations is distributed among suppliers identified in 2.1 and these are then included as an extension to the supplier database D2.1 (D2.2). The survey will also emphasise standardisation and open standards.

Final project report

D5.3 Final project report (M24) -Final technical report.

Dissemination strategy

This deliverable will describe the framework to guide dissemination activities within CIMEC. It will identify and describe the target groups for dissemination activities and explain how and through which dissemination channels they will be reached. It will describe the main dissemination tools to be developed within the project and will identify project milestones which will be particularly important to link outreach activities to.

Framework for roadmap

The Roadmap Framework Report will cover factors involved in the implementation of C-ITS. Factors expected to be covered within the framework include a consideration of city policy vs C-ITS functionality; quantifiable benefit vs anticipated cost of acquisition/operation; city scale factors (population, density, economics etc.); longevity, maturity and feasibility of products/services; social acceptability (e.g. for privacy); and marketplace coherence. The aim is to document a comprehensive characterisation of the issues that are likely to affect the deployment of C-ITS over the foreseeable future.

Contact database ITS suppliers

ITS suppliers will be identified in a questionnaire sent to core and follower cities. These suppliers will be entered into a supplier database (D 2.1), along with large suppliers already identified through the consortium's existing networks.

Exploitation plan

The report will describe the exploitation activities which are needed in order to exploit the CIMEC project results, most importantly, the new knowledge gained about the business case and the potential deployment strategies of the most interesting cooperative systems solutions from the local authority perspective. New use cases for cooperative systems deployment in cities may be taken forward in the technical specifications and standardisation processes of the appropriate CEN and ISO task forces.

Report on ITS and C-ITS standards

Report will describe how C-ITS will be integrated in cities’ ITS architecture and identify standardisation issues that are currrently not addressed. This could relate to (sub-) systems, communication or processes. It will also highlight the significance in relation to existing (regional) ITS standards (OCIT, OTS, UTMC, DATEX II etc.) and urban procurement processes.

Report extension: recommendations on standardisation

This report will extend D2.4 with valuable feedback and recommendations from workshops where cities’ standardisation requirements will be considered and further standardisation work will be identified. This report is not only an input for WP 3’s Deployment Roadmap. It will also be a prominent contribution to the current efforts of the European Commission to set up a mandate on “Standardisation request addressed to the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN), European Committee for Electro-technical Standardisation (Cenelec) and European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) on harmonised European standards in support of the implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems in urban areas” (DG Enterprise, Draft date 08.08.2014).

Website

The website will be the most important source of information on activities within the project. It will serve as the main point of reference for detailed information on the project’s activities, progress and outputs. -News and events will be regularly uploaded and these updates will form the basis of an electronic news flash. -An electronic newsflash will also be used as a means to draw attention to the website. -The website will be a tool for communication between the project and the CIMEC City Pool (task 4.3) and between the City Pool members
