The main objective of the project is the development of a Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS), an electronic system in charge of the monitoring of the wheels air pressure, providing a real-time information to the driver. This information is very useful regarding security, but also in terms of gas consumption, and thus in terms of reducing air pollution. In this area Farsens aims to provide a Battery-free TPMS systems.
The main advantage of the Farsens technology in this field is the elimination of the batteries in TPMS systems. Farsens patented technology allows the development of wireless battery-free sensing systems based on UHF (Ultra High Frequency) RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Technology.
The main objective of this project is helping to reduce the usage of batteries in TPMS systems, with the consequent relief for the environment. The importance of this objective is not only environmental, but also economical. The main driver of this product is the cost of the system.
Through the implementation of this Project the following objectives are desired to be accomplished:
-Technical: Develop a fully operative Battery less TPMS solution with all the certifications and permissions to be implemented in all the vehicle platforms that are using standard TPMS solutions now a days
-Market: Achieve a remarkable market share of the whole TPMS market.
-Environmental: Reduce the impact for the environment due to the use of batteries in TPMS systems.
-Economic: Reducing the final cost of the TPMS system through the elimination of batteries.
To cut a long story short, this Project aims to offer an ecologic alternative in TPMS systems, with an outstanding performance and cost comparing to existing solutions.
Moreover, Farsens wants to develop a solution that allows the company to be in a good situation in a growing market, becoming a worldwide reference in TPMS systems as it will be a low cost, ecological, light and with longer life time than existing solutions.
