Study and assessment of physical and link layer technologies for 5G-Crosshaul

D2.1 studies the application of different physical and link layer technologies to the 5G-Crosshaul network, critically reviewing relevant features such as connectivity, capacity, link distance, energy efficiency, latency, cost, etc. Application space and use cases will be identified for each technology.

Final 5G-Crosshaul system design and economic analysis

This deliverable reports on the final architectural detailing all the subsystems and their dependencies, the details of their interfaces as well as their interactions. It also includes an economic analysis of the 5G-Crosshaul technologies and architecture.

Year 2 achievements and plan for Year 3

D6.2 will report on Y2 achievements and provide an assessment towards the targets set for Y2, and a cumulative assessment over Y1 and Y2. It will also outline the plan for Y3.

First periodic report of the project

Intermediate Project Report: summarises project activities and achievements performed within the project in the first period.

Year 3 achievements and future plans

D6.3 will report on Y3 achievements and provide an assessment towards the targets set for Y3 and over the entire project duration. It will also outline the plan for further exploitation and dissemination activities beyond the project lifetime.

Final design of 5G-Crosshaul Applications and Algorithms

This deliverable will describe the final design of all methods and algorithms in WP4. This includes refinements of the design outlined in D4.1 and thus does not require significant changes to the XCI NBI. D4.2 will contain final validation results and potential requirements on interfaces to neighbouring network domain controllers.

Final Project Report

Final Project Report: summarises the project activities and achievements in the second period and over the entire duration of the project.

XFE/XCI design at year 1, specification of southbound and northbound interface

D3.1 will be based on the results from WP1-4 IRs, and it will provide the first version of the interface specification for the northbound and southbound interfaces, the functional specification for the XCI and XFE and the architecture for the XCI. An initial concept for the control and management of the nodes from WP2 will be also specified. The first recommendation for the frame protocol set will be presented after analysing on-going standardization and research activities.

5G-Crosshaul initial system design, use cases and requirements

This deliverable describes the set of identified use cases and the final sub-set selected in the project. Furthermore, it reports all the technical and commercial requirements derived along with their priorities for consideration in the 5G-Crosshaul design.

Integration of physical and link layer technologies in 5G-Crosshaul network nodes

D2.2 describes how and where different technologies are deployed in the 5G-Crosshaul network and accordingly defines the architecture of the network nodes, defining a common transport infrastructure for fronthaul and backhaul.

Report on validation and demonstration results

This deliverable will provide the results of the validation and demonstration.

Final XFE/XCI design and specification of southbound and northbound interfaces

D3.2 will be based on WP1-5 Internal Reports, and it will provide the consolidated versions of the interface specification for the northbound and southbound interfaces, the functional specification for the XCI and XFE and the final XCI architecture. The final concept for the control and management of the nodes from WP2 will be provided along with the final definition for the frame protocol. A demonstrator of the extended SDN controller and XFE will be implemented and integrated into the WP5 demonstration in Berlin.

Initial design of 5G-Crosshaul Applications and Algorithms

This deliverable will describe the initial versions of all methods and algorithms to be developed in WP4. The design of methods and algorithms will be based on the current specification of the XCI NBI.

Report on validation and demonstration plans

D5.1 will provide a description of the implementation, integration and demonstration plans to be done during the project. It will also include first proof of concept results.

Year 1 achievements and plan for Year 2

D6.1 will report WP6 achievements in Y1 and provide an assessment towards the targets set for Y1. It will also provide an outline for the plan in Y2 building on the results in Y1.
