MyDefence Communication ApS ambition is to become a major player in the global market of counter-drones technology for urban scenarios. The company forecasts to achieve total revenues of €193 Million with net profits of €110 Million within five years. The present feasibility study represents a key step towards the implementation of our overall innovation project, the primary goal of which is – through market replication, full-scale demonstrations and adaptation – to scale our solution into critical infrastructures and mobile soft targets, starting with prisons and sports stadiums. Through the large number of interviews and meetings with security services providers from public and private sector, the demand for an effective drone detection and mitigation system for urban contexts, was clearly verified. Our analysis shows that our ambitions may be fulfilled if a focused route-to-market strategy is followed.
During the reporting period the following was accomplished:
• Completed a market investigation including potential customer interview to detail the various aspects of the customer needs and finding the demonstration applications.
• Signed up 8 agreements for testing and demonstrations.
• We have worked closely with the Danish, UK and US authorities to raise the issue in relation to regulatory procedures applicable to the target KNOX market applications.
• Applied technical refinements on the RF detection and jamming, and created a new type of radar.
• Technology evaluations and statements from 3 external parties.
• Regarding IPR, we have concluded that potentially conflicting patent cannot limit our freedom to operate.
• Further development and enhancement of the business plan based on our findings during the feasibility study.
The concept and approach, as well as the impact was validated favourably through the feasibility study. We have concluded that the overall strategic vision should be maintained.
