Obiettivo

The aim of this project is to develop optimum hot and cold rolling and continuous annealing practices (steel compositions: 0.15% - 0.3% C; 0.8% - 2.0% Si; 0.8% - 2.0% Mn) to promote "Transformation Induced Plasticity" (TRIP) in which austenite is transformed into hard martensite by deformation. Laboratory and mill trials will be carried out, and final surface quality and welding properties checked.
