Fatigue in spot-welded stainless steel sheet used in the construction of railway coaches

Ziel

The aim of this research is to determine the fatigue strength of industrially produced stainless steel sheets and to optimize the fatigue properties for a given resistance-spot-welding configuration and for a given mechanichal treatment. This work is necessary to improve the in-service performance of welded components and thus promote the wider utilisation of stainless steels.
