Obiettivo
In view of the limited information on large thickness components made from 9Cr- 1Mo, Vb, V, N, steels this project will be undertaken to: - acquire a more complete knowledge of the metallurgical characteristics of these steels; - produce and evaluate large-thickness components and homogeneous and heterogeneous welded joints.
The metalurgical investigations will be performed in order to: - evaluate segregation sensitivity; - establish the influence of heat treatment on mechanical properties of thick components; - investigate the high-temperature properties stensile, creep, toughness); - analyse the microstructure developed at high temperatures and the associated embrittlement phenomena; - characterize the welded joints.
