Ziel

The main goals of this research project are: - to describe the behaviour of the argon gas bubbles coming from the submerged entry nozzle into the casting machine with different sealing techniques and the characteristics of the casting processes used; - to define the optimum gas injection mode with respect to casting, macro- cleanness of slabs and, if possible, to index defects on sheets; - to define indicators of critical periods of casting in terms of mould meniscus perturbations.
