Obiettivo Chlorides are one of the primary causes of stress corrosion cracking in stainless steels and are also contributory in the majority of failures in process environments. However, there is a lack of adequate testing methods for evaluating chloride-induced cracking in newer, more resistant steel grades. The objective of this project is to conduct a systematic evaluation of the occurrence of chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking in austenitic and duplex stainless steels.
