Obiettivo The proposed project deals with the investigation of the casting conditions and the required surface conditioning for the coatability of thin steel strips made by direct strip casting. Strip casting is a near-net-shape technology that enables a further clipping of the process route for strip production. The casting process will be investigated as well as an in-line treatment in terms of coatability. This will decrease the gap in knowledge concerning the coating abilities and the surface structure of the direct cast strips.
