Improvement of strip flatness in tandem mills by means of axially movable rolls with special camber

Objetivo

This proposed research is an extension of project N° 7210-EA/104 entitled: "Improvement of strip flatness in tandem mills and skin-pass mill stands by means of axially movable rolls with special camber". The aim of the present work is to apply measurements of tension across the width of the strip desired from a measuring roll unit developed by ASEA to define all correcting elements - cambre, differential screw-down, lateral displacement, localised cooling - to achieve a good flatness in closed loop control on the 3rd and 4th stands of a tandem mill.
