Cell jet injection established and evaluated in vitro and in vivo

Water jet cell injection technique to apply viable MPCs in vitro on surfaces as well as in predetermined areas of the urethral sphincter muscle explants.

Definition of the best option for delivery of MPCs

Conclusion if needle-less injection of MPCs is superior to needle-application and recommendation for further surgical regimen and cell application strategy.

CE Certification of Injection Device

The injection of the final MPC product will be performed during Treatment Visit under general or spinal anesthesia. To allow standardized injections into the pelvic floor of female patients, the cells will be injected under real-time ultrasound guidance by the use of an Injection device (linker-device between ultrasound and syringe with needle) As required by Swissmedic (Swiss Regulatory Agency), the developed Injection Device will be CE certified before start of the clinical trial by the Swiss Center of Regeneration Medicine (SCRM) of UZH.

The MUSIC website will combine functionalities to streamline communication and material exchange between partners, as well as to monitor progress and dissemination of project results to stakeholders. A password-protected internal part of the website will be accessible for all project Participants only, providing helpful information, documents and schedules. To raise the public interest, this website will disseminate any information which can be disclosed to the public and it will be updated regularly.

Workshops to be held within the consortium and external candidates

XPD and UZH will organize yearly workshops for translational stem cell research for the other consortium partners as well as for external candidates from universities hospitals and industry
