Personal Career Development Plan for each ESR

Database of personal career development plans for each ESR with capabilities to further develop and track the evolution. The contents implements The European Charter for Researchers & The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. The PCDPs are compiled by the employing organisations and are archived by the coordinator.

EASISchool 2

EASISchool 2 focuses on specific topics of superconductor material sciences, novel superconductors, superconductor production, applications in industry and healthcare, surface treatments for industrial applications. The program is completed by technological competence leveraging and application screening. All beneficiaries contribute to this training event.

Industry meets academia event

Networking event with industrial partners from within and beyond the consortium with the goal to expose the ESRs and their research to industries working in the field. Connection of industry with key researchers in the project to understand the roadmaps and requirements of the industry and the market for the technologies tackled in this project. Review of valorisation potentials identified so far and drafting of R&D and product visions for promising markets. All beneficiaries contribute to the organisation of this event.

EASISchool 1

EASISchools are two weeks intense summer school events on a yearly basis, federating national and EC research projects. School 1 focuses on superconductivity in LTS and HTS, on cryogenics, industrial & lifecycle applications, innovation management, technological competence leveraging and communication with the media and the public. All beneficiaries contribute to this training event.

ESR training network introduction workshop

Introduction workshop for the consortium and ESRs introducing the project, work methodologies, project goals, work distribution and schedule as well as introduction into the tools used to manage and carry out the project. All beneficiaries contribute to this training event.

EASISchool 3

The third school focuses on innovative and disruptive technologies such as superconducting electronics ultrawide band and radiofrequency applications material processing and manufacturing processes The program is complemented with research management topics such a grant preparation RD project management and related intellectual property management At this occasion also organisation and working of the EU research framework is explained All beneficiaries contribute to this training event

Researcher transferable skills training

Training focusing on professional communication and presentation career development assessment center preparation management of intellectual properties and patent preparation The training features an information exchange with experienced researchers in order to transfer successful communication approaches to the ESRs and to commonly review the experience gained in the project so far All beneficiaries contribute to the development of contents for this training event

Architectures and models for superconducting magnet cooling

Assessment and documentation the merits of different cooling architectures for magnets in terms of efficiency and costs for different application scenarios

Performance indicators for Nb3Sn and MgB2 wires

Report on the elucidation and quantification the critical current density reach of wires based on the material structures and the total volume pinning fore indicating required material properties and giving guidelines for the optimisation

Impact factors of manufacturing techniques on superconducting thin-film coatings

Report on a suitable thin film coating and manufacturing with a description of the manufacturing key parameters and quantification of their impacts on yield and quality. The report may, as appropriate, include guidelines on the optimisation potentials of the process.

MgB2 wires and production process for high-field magnets

Identification and documentation of viable strategies for production of MgB2 wire for highfield applications and obtain a suitable wire layout for industrial production Report on initial largescale production trials Documentation of field reach and suitable usecases

Specification of optimised heat extraction for magnet coils

Report on improved cryogenic design of superconducting magnet coils as consequence of the fundamental understanding of the heat transfer mechanisms in heliumpermeable insulations and the thermal behaviour of superconducting magnet coils under different thermodynamic helium conditions Documentation of impacts on overall cooling architectures

Quality parameters for Nb3Sn, NbN and Tl thin-films

Documentation of the impact of thermal properties of the superconducting layer on the substrate and the interactions between substrate and layer Estimation of the performance of the superconducting layer based on material characterisation and numerical simulation

Document suitable amorphous or nanocrystalline precursors and fabrication recipes for Tl1223 and Tl1212 superconducting thin film synthesis the identified and optimised production route for Tlbased coatings Report on the understanding on the superconducting and structural properties of Tl coatings Include a gap analysis of current stateofthe art production quantities yields and prices and describe potential paths to achieve good quality films at large quantities and at controlled financial levels

Baseline production processes for LTS thin-film coatings

Description of a baseline production process for Low Temperature Superconductor thin-film coatings together the production key parameters and quantification of their impacts on the quality. The process aims at improving the substrate handling during the coating process in order to obtain homogeneous coating at the required quality scales in a reproducible fashion at large.

Specification for Nelium refrigeration system

Description of a viable refrigeration cycle performance potential capacity improvements and cost savings over current stateoftheart processes Description of a realisable system architecture with specifications of the system components Depending on any test stand results the report includes learnings from trials The specification shall be usable as baseline for an actual prototype

A concise brochure providing an overview of the research including scope, goals and valorisation potentials. They will be shared via a suitable e-publishing service to stakeholders and through a set of different communication channels (social media campaign, newsletters, communication offices of the consortium members) with the public.

Impact potentials of EASITrain research on society & industry

Description of impact potentials of the research performed for the creation of future research infrastructures, industry and medical domains. The description includes cost and performance improvement potentials. All beneficiaries contribute to the contents development of this deliverable.

A mediarich version of the project brochure including a list of the collected scientific publications produced in this ITN featuring the ESR profiles and achievements The product will be disseminated within the consortium using the project communication channels to related EC projects via the project office at CERN to other scientists via newsletters to known industry partners via the consortium partners to the public via a social media channel campaign All beneficiaries contribute to the contents development of this deliverable

Doctoral degree curriculum in Applied Superconductivity

All participants cooperate establish a common international doctoral degree program preparing the scene for todays school attendants to become tomorrows experts in applied superconductivityThe degree program is an annotated list of courses with a description of contents and indications with which universities research centres and industrial partners this program could eventually be implemented as a joint doctorate programAll beneficiaries contribute to the contents development of this deliverable
