While being a smart user could be just a matter of common sense, awareness and education, it represents a cultural change. Educate consumers on energy savings to reduce carbon emissions is a must, but is not enough. To maximize energy savings in a home you need to automate operation of as many energy consuming devices as possible. And to significantly reduce carbon emissions in a community you need to maximize the deployment of automated homes.
Domo4m proposes a home & small business automation solution that maximizes energy savings per installation and penetration of automated homes & business. To achieve this, we´ll use Artificial Intelligence to learn, predict and react to user behavior to maximize efficiency, and implement most functionality on software running in standard hardware and standard communication protocols to reduce cost to increase our solution reach
In conclusion, Home automation systems can reduce up to 27% energy consumption , our solution would accelerate home automation adoption to reach the predicted 20% penetration . We could save up to 5% of all homes energy consumption to contribute to EU´s target to reduce energy consumption by 20% on 2020.
Technical feasibility:
• Our pilot has validated the interoperability with several devices from different OEM connected through our software based controller running on general purpose hardware based on smartphone SOCs
• Identified artificial intelligence solutions and algorithms and specialised partners to implement them in our solution to maximize energy savings and make the solution easier to use
• Domo4m software based controller approach has been validated allowing us to remotely deploy new features to pilot participants during the pilot duration
Business feasibility:
• Based on the positive feedback from our pilot participants we found there is a strong willingness to pay for an integrated home/business automation solution at an affordable cost.
• Validated our solution cost structure to provide a turn key solution including hardware and installation costs at an affordable cost.
• Analysed different options to protect and monetize our Intellectual property, and reviewed our freedom to operate within national and European regulations.
• Identified potential sales channels to got market in both residential and small business segments: real state companies, builders, utilities, service providers, associations.
• We´ve defined our business model which includes revenues from the initial equipment sale and installation and recurring revenues from subscription value added services.
• Conducted a market research to identify our initial target segments based on their willingness to pay and perceived value of our solution
