Obiettivo
There is great need for more effective bone grafts to treat craniomaxillofacial (CMF) complications. Bone grafting, which accounted for 24 million procedures and $3.3 billion in sales worldwide in 2010, is critical to treat CMF complications associated to trauma, tumour removal, or congenital disorders. However, the use of traditional autogenous or allogenic grafts possesses a number of problems. MINGRAFT aims to establish a new scalable bioactive coating for bespoke implants to treat mandibular bone complications. The project will aim to develop a coating that is tuneable, easy to fabricate, versatile, and that can promote the rapid integration of mandibular implants while stimulating bone regeneration.
