OMNISCIENT aims at offering an end-to-end solution for the supply chain management in logistics and transportation, enabling all the stakeholders to take decisions that optimize fleet and flow management for cost saving and maximization of resources’ allocation. The novelty comes from the complete integration of data from different sources (sensors, companies’ own data, and also open data), to provide a complete knowledge-driven platform.
On a technical level, we have performed a deep evaluation of the implications of diversifying our network provider. IoT networks are quickly maturing and progressing in their coverage all over the world, but each provider presents different conditions in terms of range, bandwidth, and cost, and not all providers operate globally, for which we needed to assess what would be the best option for each of our target geographical markets.
When it comes to our commercial progress, we have closed deals for running pilots with 14 clients in France, Germany and Austria. We have further researched the needs of each of our customer segments, to establish a technical plan that fully addresses these.
Freedom-to-operate was also undertaken, verifying the feasibility of putting the product on the market without any IP implications or risks.

Most mobile tracking systems ensure a continuous tracking, but not real-time tracking and only addressed to motorised assets. Only a few companies offer real-time tracking, they all base it on GPRS, which has a higher energy consumption and connexion costs, and that it is not adapted for numerous non-motorised mobile assets with frequent movements.
Nevertheless, tracking systems are able to send alerts but, none has reached the point of adding data analytics or prediction to the formula.
